Satsuma Picking at Dr. Overstreet’s House, More Than Just a Tradition

On a crisp afternoon with the sun shining brightly through the trees, PPCP GSA members, family and friends were gathered at Dr. Overstreet’s house as an annual tradition to pick the delicious, orange, juicy and citric fruit, satsumas and to delight a variety of food.

Annually, Dr. Overstreet and his wife open their house’s doors for GSA members and friends to share happiness and love. Satsumas are produced every year at Dr Overstreet’s house, and they wait to be harvested by GSA students. More than fruit producers, satsuma trees have been producing happiness, joy and love for all.

Even kids picked their satsumas; Dr. Overstreet here showing how to do it.

These satsuma trees have seen many generations of GSA members and this year was not the exception.

Every year, these satsuma trees have enough fruit for all to pick, eat and save some to take home.

Thank you to Dr. Overstreet and his wife for warmly inviting us to enjoy satsumas this year on this cold-sunny afternoon!
